The Korean drama “Doctor Slump” is currently streaming on Netflix. It stars Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye in the lead roles. The third and fourth episodes have been released and here is the recap.
Yeo Jeong-Woo and Nam Ha-Neul, former high school rivals, both ends up fainting after following the same routine. During their recovery, Ha-Neul’s dedication to studying, even while recuperating, surprised Jeong-Woo. This led him to decide to stick by her side.
In the present, after a night of a drunken and emotional hug, Ha-Neul and Jeong-Woo vowed to keep their distance to avoid any awkwardness. Ha-Neul’s family supported her mental health journey, providing medication and care. Meanwhile, Jeong-Woo faced his second trial, with his assistant changing his stance to testify.
A mysterious man attempted to break into Jeong-Woo’s house, creating tension. Ha-Neul’s family, discovering the incident, alerted the police. Ha-Neul invited Jeong-Woo to stay at her house, leading to a dinner where they discussed missed opportunities for fun due to studying.
The next day, Ha-Neul found out about a scheme affecting her severance pay, while Jeong-Woo tried to express gratitude but overheard discussions about his scandal. As Ha-Neul decided to help him with the trial, she discovered a relevant case in India but was late in presenting it to the judge.
Jeong-Woo, overwhelmed with gratitude, ran to Ha-Neul’s aid as reporters surrounded him outside the court. They spent time together, and Jeong-Woo suggested becoming friends rather than addressing each other as former classmates. Ha-Neul accepted, aiming to provide comfort as they faced life’s challenges together.
The episode concluded with a flashback to high school, where Ha-Neul left a note for Jeong-Woo after witnessing his mother’s neglect.
After watching the sunrise together, Nam Ha-Neul reflected on finally finding a friend from the past. Unlike her school days, where she focused on studies and couldn’t make friends, the two went for breakfast. Ha-Neul shared that she hadn’t slept, busy searching for a case similar to Jeong-Woo’s.
Jeong-Woo expressed gratitude after Ha-Neul handed over the helpful case for his second trial. When he noticed her exhaustion, he arranged for her to sleep at a restaurant, leading to a misunderstanding about them being a couple. The former rivals ended up sleeping for a few hours.
Concerned about Ha-Neul’s disappearance, her family thought she went to see the sunrise with her best friend, Hong-Ran. However, they found Ha-Neul and Jeong-Woo together, with Hong-Ran mistaking him for Ha-Neul’s first love. Ha-Neul clarified that they were just friends, but her mother asked Hong-Ran to set up a date.
As Jeong-Woo dealt with recent developments, Ha-Neul invited him shopping. Misinterpreting her intentions, he dressed up, but she revealed she was going on a blind date. Confused, Jeong-Woo returned home mildly upset. The next day, Ha-Neul discovered the blind date was with Dr. Bin Dae-Young due to a miscommunication.
During their date, Dae-Young kept addressing her as Hong-Ran, causing confusion. Ha-Neul found out about the misunderstanding and his daughter. Meanwhile, Ha-Neul’s aunts mocked her, and her mother lied about a potential marriage. When Ha-Neul returned home with Jeong-Woo, mistaken for Dae-Young, the aunts continued to make fun of her.
Jeong-Woo indirectly made fun of Ha-Neul’s aunts, who left insulted. Later, in a drunken state, Ha-Neul and Jeong-Woo reflected on their broken careers. He advised her to put her resume online, and they shared an umbrella in the rain. The scene shifted to a hidden camera under Jeong-Woo’s table.
The next day, Ha-Neul got a call for a job interview in Hwabon, following Jeong-Woo’s advice. Despite asking for advice, Jeong-Woo encouraged her to go for it. She left for Hwabon, while Jeong-Woo discussed Ha-Neul’s past with his senior Kyung-Min. Jeong-Woo blamed his senior for not revealing the whole story about Ha-Neul’s bullying.
As Ha-Neul traveled, the clinic informed her that the interview was canceled due to her history. She returned to the train station, emotional and called Jeong-Woo, expressing doubts about her life. As a train approached, Jeong-Woo appeared, reassuring her that she wasn’t at fault. The episode ended with emotional glances between them, and Kyung-Min holding a hidden camera pen, revealing his villainous role.
