Yi-soo and Gang-hyun fight against Taesung’s men, leading to Taesung’s arrest. During the interrogation, Taesung points the finger at his brother Taeyong, who arrives at the police station. Taeyong is betrayed by Taesung, who reveals drugs supposedly belonging to him. Amidst the chaos, their mother, revealed as the second wife of DN Media’s CEO, arrives with the CEO’s first wife and eldest son, Taejun.
After arresting Taeyong, they learn he pushed Ina into the river but didn’t kill her. Gang-hyun initially suspects Taeyong, but Yi-soo’s explanation suggests someone else was present. Yi-soo discovers a scratch on Taejun’s yacht and connects Ina to all three brothers. As they investigate, they find evidence pointing to the first wife and her secretary as the culprits.
Using his influence, Yi-soo uncovers Ina as the CEO’s illegitimate daughter. The team gathers evidence against the first wife and secretary. Yi-soo catches the escaping secretary with his helicopter, leading to their arrest. During interrogation, Y-soo notices the first wife’s unusual confession and Taejun’s suspicious behavior.
Taejun’s involvement is revealed through an audio recording, leading to his arrest. Although Gang-hyun acts annoyed, Yi-soo arranges a beef party, but no one shows up. Unfazed, he decides to move out and discovers kindness from his stepbrother Seung-ju, who cared for him in their childhood.
News of Yi-soo’s successful case spreads, but his father remains indifferent. Yi-soo receives an invitation to an art gallery, only to find the professor stabbed to death. He declares himself a cop, suspecting the killer is inside, and the locked room crime case unfolds.
At the crime scene, Gang-hyun instructs Kyung-jin to gather visitors’ phone numbers, treating it as a locked room case. Y-soo initially questions the need but is enlightened about Noh’s time of death. Interrogating Noh’s junior assistant, Kwon Do-jun, Yi-soo suspects guilt but hesitates when the gallery director arrives.
The director appears indifferent to Noh’s death, focusing on the gallery’s heightened fame. They discover a prior incident where a mysterious woman splashed paint on Noh’s paintings. Visiting Noh’s wife, they find her nonchalant about her husband’s death, claiming innocence due to her alibi with a boyfriend.
With four suspects, they rush the investigation. The autopsy reveals hesitation in the killer’s actions. Jun-young tails Jin-kyu, Noh’s wife’s boyfriend, discovering his involvement with a younger girlfriend and a business venture. Jin-kyu demands 2 billion, matching Noh’s insurance value. Gang-hyun and Yi-soo meet the mysterious woman, who reveals Noh stole her daughter’s work.
Yi-soo purchases the painted artwork, placing it in his new home. A fallen piece reveals Do-jun’s signature, connecting him to the crime. Gang-hyun uncovers Do-jun’s canceled study plans due to plagiarism. Kyungjin links a scarf from CCTV to Dojun’s purchase. Confronting Dojun, Yi-soo is attacked and collapses, intensifying the mystery.
